Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what plans she has to visit Coventry following the launch of the UK City of Culture 2021 competition; and if she will make a statement.

The UK City of Culture 2021 represents an exciting opportunity to use arts and culture to celebrate a City and as a catalyst for economic and social regeneration. We welcome bids from towns and cities across the UK and, if bids are successful in being shortlisted, my officials will undertake a visit as part of the selection process.

All Ministers undertake visits across the UK for a variety of reasons, which may include a city participating in the competition.
