Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the total cost to the public purse was of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency's charter of the Herakles emergency towing vessel.

The total cost of chartering the Emergency Towing Vessel, HERAKLES, from June 2012 to 31 December 2016 was £10,158,019. This is broken down as £9,511,287 as charter costs and £646,732 for fuel and lubes.
