This information is not held centrally. However, the most recently published data from the Department’s annual collection of reference costs from National Health Service trusts and foundation trusts estimated the national average unit cost of a consultant-led outpatient attendance at £156 for a first appointment and £125 for a follow-up appointment in 2015-16.
