We remain committed to our five-year pledge to spend £11.6 billion on international climate finance. This includes support developing countries to adapt to the impacts of climate change, including to avert minimize and address loss and damage, and adopt clean growth pathways, reducing or avoiding carbon emissions.

At COP26 increasing ambition and action on adaptation and loss and damage will be a priority. The UK Presidency will continue to advocate for and pursue outcomes that will make a practical difference to countries and communities, particularly those most vulnerable to climate change. We aim to scale up and improve access to adaptation finance, ensuring that it reaches local communities.
