Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment his Department has made of the effect that 20 minutes of brisk walking has on improving health.

The Department has not made an assessment of the effect of 20 minutes brisk walking on health improvement.

According to United Kingdom Chief Medical Officers' guidelines for physical activity, all adults should be active for at least 150 minutes each week of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity.
