Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what discussions she has had with Cabinet colleagues on extending the Household Support Fund past 30 September 2022.
The Government is providing an additional £500 million to help households with the cost of essentials, bringing the total funding for this support to £1.5 billion.
As announced on 26 May, £421 million is already being provided to extend the existing Household Support Fund in England from 01 October 2022 to 31 March 2023. Guidance and individual local authority allocations for this further extension to the Household Support Fund have been shared with Local Authorities and will be published soon. The devolved administrations will receive £79 million through the Barnett formula.
