Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what proportion of household expenditure was spent on energy bills in (a) the Linlithgow and East Falkirk constituency, (b) Scotland and (c) the UK in each year since 2010.

The average expenditure on household energy bills as a proportion of total expenditure in the UK for each year since 2010 is as follows:

The proportion of household expenditure spent on energy bills is only available for each year at the UK level and is not available by constituency or region. However, a three year average is available for Scotland. The three year average for the UK has also been provided for comparison. The proportion of total expenditure spent on energy bills in Scotland for 2013/14 – 2015/16 is 5.4 per cent. For the UK, this figure is 4.8 per cent.
