Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, if he will take steps to strengthen identification requirements, including proof of address, for businesses registering with Companies House.

The Government is committed to creating an environment that supports business, by striking the right balance between effective corporate transparency and the ease of doing business. Consistent with this, Companies House focuses on improving the quality of data on the register through post-registration investigation and enforcement rather than the introduction of identification requirements.
