Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, if he will take steps to ensure that housing is developed to meet local needs.

The National Planning Policy Framework makes clear that local authorities should assess the size, type and tenure of housing required to meet the needs of different groups in the community, including the need for affordable housing, and reflect this in their planning policies.
