Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, if he will take steps to ensure that local authorities rather than developers decide the type of tenure which will apply to housing on development sites.

Our National Planning Policy Framework already makes clear that local authorities should assess the size, type and tenure of housing needed for different groups in the community and reflect this in their planning policies.
