Question to the Scotland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his Answer of 9 July 2015 to Question 5448 on the Smith Commission, for what reasons his Answer did not refer to the independent assessments which were the subject of the Question; and for what reason he has not placed those assessments in the Library.

As I said in my previous answer, I am confident that the Scotland Bill will deliver the Smith Commission agreement in full and will be recognised as doing so. There is no question that the Bill makes very significant transfers of power to the Scottish Parliament in a number of areas and is meeting our commitment to the people of Scotland. It is now for the Scottish Government to tell us how they plan to use the powers which are coming their way.
