Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions his Department has had with the Office of Rail and Road on the new dual carriageway planned for 13 miles of the A1 north of Newcastle.

There have been no specific discussions on this scheme between the Office of Road and Rail and my Department. Highways England is delivering this scheme on time and on budget, in line with the plans set out in the Road Investment Strategy.
