The Government has no plans to change the regulations concerning temporary events. However, provisions in the Business and Planning Bill will grant a permission to make sales for consumption off the premises to many businesses that are currently only licensed for the consumption of alcohol on the premises. Other provisions will suspend licence conditions that overly restrict the hours of off-sales, ban off-sales in open containers and ban deliveries of alcohol. Alongside other provisions on pavement licensing, these measures will make it easier for licensed premises to expand into outdoor spaces.
