It is the responsibility of individual Fire and Rescues Services to ensure their staff are adequately equipped and trained to meet all local operational needs, including specialist procedures related to batteries and other potentially dangerous materials.

The National Fire Chiefs Council provides National Operational Guidance covering a wide range of specialist operational activities which can be drawn upon by the Fire and Rescue Services.
