Question to the Department for International Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what steps he plans to take in negotiations for a US-UK trade deal to protect the British automotive industry.

While we are a member of the EU, we cannot negotiate and conclude trade agreements. However we can and have begun to have discussions on our future trading relationships. It is too early to say what exactly could be covered in a future UK-US deal. Any deal will of course take into account the needs of UK consumers, businesses and manufacturers.
