‘Covid-19 Response: Autumn and Winter Plan 2021’ sets out the steps we are taking to reduce the rate of infection. This includes pharmaceutical interventions such as vaccines, supporting the National Health Service and social care, identifying and isolating positive cases to limit transmission, advising people on how to protect themselves and others, and pursuing an international approach. We have also set out further steps, such as mandating face coverings and introducing vaccine-only COVID-19 status certification in certain settings, which would be enacted if the data suggests further measures are necessary to protect the NHS.
