Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if she will make an assessment of the potential (a) health and (b) environmental merits of NHS hospitals using sustainable hydrotreated vegetable oil diesel in their back-up generators.

There are no plans to make a specific assessment. The National Health Service regularly assesses the viability of new technologies to reduce costs and environmental impact.
