Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, how many firm offers were made for mergers and acquisitions of UK companies in financial year (a) 2015-16 and (b) 2016-17 to date.

The Government does not collect these figures.
