Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with his counterpart in Azerbaijan on the implementation of constitutional reforms in that country.

The UK closely follows constitutional reform in Azerbaijan via our Embassy in Baku and regularly discusses the implications of the last year’s constitutional referendum at official level with the Government of Azerbaijan. The Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Rutland and Melton (Sir Alan Duncan) met most recently with Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on 18 February 2017.
