Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what proportion of the total number of people employed in the digital economy nationally are based in London.

For statistical purposes, government defines the digital economy as “all jobs in the digital sector, as well as all those working in Digital Occupations in non-digital sectors". Data on the total number of people employed in the digital economy in each region is not readily available, however in 2015, it is estimated that 25.9% of digital sector jobs were based in London.
