Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate his Department has made of the number of midwives who will be required in (a) Salford and (b) the UK by 2020.

Information relating to the number of midwives required in Salford is not held centrally by the Department.
In the 2016/17 Workforce Plan for England, Health Education England estimates the future demand for qualified midwives in England by 2020 will be 24,628.
