I am sorry, but the department does not currently collect data on the number of paid for school dinners.

We do monitor take-up of benefit related free school meals (FSM) and universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) using information taken from the school census. The proportion of compulsory school age pupils claiming benefit related free school meals is 14%. The proportion of eligible infants (excluding those not already eligible for benefit-related FSM) taking a meal under the UIFSM policy is 85.9%.[1]
