Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will allocate additional funding to support an increase in autism testing.

We are investing over £13 million of additional funding in 2021/2022 to improve assessments and diagnosis of autism, including addressing waiting times in England. In addition, through our new autism strategy, we are funding an early identification pilot in which healthcare and education staff are assessing children who may be autistic within schools.
