Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will make it his policy to require clinical commissioning groups in England to include a representative of local pharmacists on their governing boards.
The Government has no current plans to require clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to include a representative of local pharmacists on their governing boards.
However, the Health and Social Care Act 2012 allows CCGs to appoint pharmacists to governing boards as lay members, in accordance with their constitutions.
