Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many children under 14 in England and Wales hold certificates that allow them to use shotguns under the supervision of an adult.

The Home Office publishes National Statistics on firearm and shotgun certificates issued by the police in England and Wales annually.

The latest published figures show that as at 1 April 2016, there were 313 children under 14 years of age who held a shotgun certificate.
