When shielding, adults and children should continue to receive the healthcare and support they need at home wherever possible, preferably virtually or online. Where remote service delivery is not possible, for example in the case of phlebotomy, this should be delivered through infection-controlled home visiting where clinically necessary. In guidance issued on 4 June, systems were therefore instructed to expand and resource all relevant home-based services such as a home-visiting phlebotomy service.
