Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what progress has been made by his Department on helping members of the plumbing and mechanical services industry pension scheme to manage their employment liabilities.

The Green Paper “Security and Sustainability of defined benefit pension schemes” asks if new measures are needed to help schemes like the Plumbers manage pension liabilities. This is a highly complex area and the Green Paper seeks to start an informed debate and build consensus on what, if any, changes to legislation may be needed.
