Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many section 98 applications submitted from asylum seekers before 3pm receive a reply on the same day.

If an asylum seeker has an emergency need for accommodation they can ask to be provided with support under Section 98 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 whilst their support application is being processed. For the period 26 June 2017 until 31 August 2017 98.1% of all section 98 requests received a same day decision whether they were received before or after 3pm.
