Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to the Answer of 28 July 2020 to Question 76930, whether it remains her policy to extend eligibility for (a) widowed parent's allowance and (b) higher rate bereavement support payment to cohabitees with children.

It remains our intention to take forward a Remedial Order that will extend eligibility for Widowed Parent’s Allowance and Bereavement Support Payment to cohabitees with children. We are currently considering the detail and implementation of the draft Remedial Order, which will be laid before the House in due course.
