The Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill will enable the government to realise the benefits of Brexit by adopting a regulatory approach which best meets the UK’s interests. The Government is currently reviewing how best to use the powers provided by the Retained EU Law Bill, including which pieces of retained EU law should be repealed, reformed or preserved. Any reforms will not come at the expense of the UK’s already high standards. Maintaining patient safety and public health will remain paramount when reforming retained EU law and the government will continue to work with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome.
