Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what the timetable is for implementing the ban on new build homes being sold as leasehold.

The public consultation, ‘Tackling Unfair Practices in the Leasehold Market’, looks at a range of measures to help tackle unfair and unreasonable abuses of the leasehold system. The consultation closes on 19 September 2017. The Government cannot pre-empt the consultation or comment while it is still on going. We will review all responses and respond in due course.
