Abortion: Clinics

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, whether his Department plans to give ratings to private abortion clinics in the same way in which the Care Quality Commission gives such ratings to NHS clinics.
The Government published a consultation on 22 August 2016 on the scope of performance assessment of providers regulated by the Care Quality Commission. This included proposals to apply performance ratings to additional provider sectors, including termination of pregnancy services. The document is available at:
It is the intention of the present Government to bring forward regulations to extend performance ratings to this sector.
