The UK is clear that lasting peace and stability in Libya will come only through an inclusive political settlement. We are actively engaged in international diplomatic efforts to secure an end to the fighting and a return to the UN-led political process. The Prime Minister represented the UK at the Berlin conference on Libya on 19 January, alongside other international leaders. He urged those present to respect the UN Arms Embargo and support a ceasefire and a return to the UN-led political process. We now call on all countries to honour the commitments they made in Berlin and urge the Libyan parties to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
