Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what recent discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for International Trade on the UK’s plans for the customs border after the end of the transition period; and what steps the Government is taking to ensure that UK border posts are (a) effective and (b) comply with international rules.

I refer to the oral statement made by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on 13 July 2020. Details of internal discussions are not normally disclosed, in line with the practice of successive administrations.
