Data for the number of pupils eligible for free school meals in England, by local authority and region, are available in the annual ‘Schools, pupils and their characteristics’ statistical release[1].

The most recent figures, from January 2016, are published at:

www.gov.uk/government/statistics/schools-pupils-and-their-characteristics-january-2016

[1] FSM figures for England, the South East and Southampton are found in Local and Regional Table 8a.
