Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, if he will review the decision not to award Freeport status to Gateway East in Doncaster in order to support the continued operation of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The Department launched the Freeports competition on 16 November 2020. Bids were assessed by expert officials in line with the requirements set out in the prospectus. In the Spring budget 2021 the Chancellor announced eight successful bidders in England. A copy of the decision making note can be found online .
