Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department is taking steps with Cabinet colleagues to help reduce the (a) use and (b) costs of (i) locum and (ii) agency social workers by local authorities.

We are working with the Department for Education and principal social workers to support local authorities to recruit and retain social workers.
