Question to the Department for Business and Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what estimate he has made of the number of workers in Fylde who may lose access to flexible work opportunities as a consequence of the reforms.
The government has published a comprehensive assessment of the potential impacts of the zero hours contract measures in the Employment Rights Act 2025 and will publish further analysis in due course as we implement these measures. This includes consideration of impacts on flexibility for both employers and workers.
These reforms do not ban zero hours and similar contracts. Workers who value this flexibility will be able to remain on their existing arrangements if they prefer.
