Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how much was spent from the public purse on law enforcement services in England and Wales as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product in the latest period for which figures are available.

On the 4th February 2021, the Government published a total police funding settlement of up to £15.8 billion in 2021/22, an increase of up to £600 million compared to 2020/21. Overall police funding available to Police and Crime Commissioners increased by up to £668 million (5.1% in cash terms) this year. The Government is committed to continued investment in policing.
