Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, for what reason a healthy start card can only be used for the purchase of milk, fruit, vegetables, pulses and infant formula as outlined on the NHS Healthy Start website.

Healthy Start is a statutory scheme as set out in legislation which allows the purchase of foods which encourage a healthy diet for pregnant women, babies and children aged under four years old.
