Heat pumps have a critical role to play in decarbonising how we heat our homes and businesses. Therefore the Government has set an ambition to grow the market to 600,000 heat pump installations per year by 2028, as set out in the Ten Point Plan. To support this ambition, the Government is undertaking a comprehensive package of policy measures, including targeted regulation, a new market-based mechanism and public investment, through programmes such as the £450 million Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
