Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to the rail contract between the Secretary of State and First Trans Pennine Express Limited and predecessor contracts, how many FTE drivers needed to work rest days in order to fulfil the service level requirements within the prevailing timetable in each year from 2015 to date.

The number of rest days worked is determined by the circumstances prevailing at any particular time and the number of drivers who make themselves available, with operators including a mix of cover for services, if required, and training provision.
