Deterring and disrupting hostile cyber activity against the UK is an important objective of the National Cyber Security Strategy. Good progress is being made by GCHQ, including the newly established National Cyber Security Centre, and the Ministry of Defence and the National Crime Agency in developing world-class capabilities and skills for this purpose. This activity is being conducted under the auspices of the National Offensive Cyber Programme and the National Cyber Security Programme.
