The Home Office collects and publishes information on the number of hate crime offences recorded by the police in England and Wales. These figures will cover periods when elections are being held.

Information on hate crime offences can be found in the hate crime statistical bulletin, which is available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/hate-crime-england-and-wales-2015-to-2016

A yearly breakdown of hate crime by police force and hate crime strand is also available in the Hate crime open data tables, which can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-recorded-crime-open-data-tables.
