We have not asked for President Obama to raise the case of Andargachew Tsege with the Government of Ethiopia during his visit. The Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon friend, the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Philip Hammond MP) and the Prime Minister, First Lord of the Treasury and Minister for the Civil Service, my Rt Hon friend, the Member for Witney (David Cameron MP) have raised the case directly and at the highest levels of the Ethiopian government and will continue to do so.
