Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment his Department has made of the adequacy of the UK’s nuclear infrastructure.

We continue to manage the well documented challenges associated with maintaining the UKs defence nuclear infrastructure. Defence is upgrading or replacing elements of nuclear infrastructure to ensure it remains reliable and safe. This includes investment of £1.4 billion into nuclear facilities and nuclear infrastructure at HMNB Clyde to extend the design life, delivering the modifications and upgrades necessary to receive the Dreadnought Class.
