To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what assessment she has made of the potential effect of OFGEM's plans to re-examine the current gas mains replacement programme on long term stability of gas supply in the UK.

It is for Ofgem, working with the Health and Safety Executive, to define the gas mains replacement programme. If Ofgem were to review this programme and to request DECC to enable changes, we would assess any relevant impacts at that time.
