Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department has taken to reduce the waiting time for replacement biometric residence permits.
For those granted temporary leave, the service standard for processing applications for a replacement biometric residence permit (BRP) is 8 weeks from the date of application, subject to the applicant enrolling their biometrics. For those granted permanent leave, the service standard is 6 months. To ensure that applications for a replacement BRP are processed within those service standards, we have been training and allocating additional resources and also looking at ways to streamline the process to improve processing times and customer service.
