Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what support his Department provides for research into green technologies, including carbon capture and hydrogen energy.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has provided £1.3bn green technology funding through the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio 2021-2025, including funding for hydrogen and CCUS, as well as supporting deployment through the Hydrogen Production Business Model, and CCUS business models. The Department is also delivering research on the potential for natural hydrogen generation and scoping new research programmes to develop the evidence base on green technologies.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funds research into hydrogen and CCUS technologies, including through the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre and research council hydrogen hubs.
