Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, if he will make representations to his Qatari counterpart on the release from prison of (a) Abdullah Ibhais and (b) Hazza and Rashed bin Ali Abu Shurayda al-Marri.

We are aware of reporting on the cases of Abdullah Ibhais and Hazza and Rashed bin Ali Abu Shurayda. We consistently underline the importance of compliance with international human rights obligations in discussions on human rights with Qatari authorities at all levels, including ministerial channels.
